Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is a follow up surgical procedure performed on the nose and it is designed to correct both the function and form of the nose that has already been operated on. A lot of people may feel that they are not happy with their nose appearance or may also have trouble breathing through their nose due to a previous nasal surgery procedure. Rhinoplasty surgery can be the most challenging and difficult surgical procedures, due to the fact there is generally a need for a secondary operation. The secondary nose surgery can tend to be a lot more complicated than the primary rhinoplasty, so it is extremely important that the patient chooses a sufficiently experienced and qualified surgeon.

What should you expect?

The revision rhinoplasty begins with a pre-consultation with your surgeon. Your surgeon will answer any of your questions and having realistic expectations about your nose is essential. The surgery is generally under aesthetic. The main aim is to solve the problem by applying revision, no matter how small or big the job is. Once the surgery is finished, you will experience some bruising around the eyes but this is completely normal. The bruising will subside and reduce within a few days. You should be able to observe the final surgery results within 6 months. It is important to be patient and wait for your final results. Always expect improvement never perfection.
